Payments

 

Paying for your Quilt Kits Online order is simple! Just add the items you want to your shopping cart and click on "Continue Shopping." You can add or remove items at any time until you check out.

Completing your Purchase:

Checkout at anytime by clicking on any Checkout button or link, on a product page or at the shopping cart. When you click on Checkout, you will be taken to a secure area to complete your customer, shipping and payment information. See our Privacy Policy for more on how we protect your private information.

Payment Methods:

Quilt Kits Online accepts the following payment types:

  • Visa
  • Mastercard
  • Paypal. With Paypal, you can use a variety of other payment types as well.
  • Google Checkout. With Google Checkout, you can use a variety of other payment types also.

 

Your credit card is never charged until we ship your order!

Sales Taxes and Customs:

For USA orders, we are required by law to charge sales taxes on orders shipped to addresses within the State of Nevada, according to the tax rate established in your county. We do not collect sales taxes for shipments to other US states. On OUS orders, we may need to collect customs payments or local taxes, according to law established in your country or area governing internet sales. Consult your local taxing authorities for details.

 

Shipping and Shipping Charges

 

All orders are shipped from our base in western Nevada, USA. We don't do any drop-shipping or rely on any outside organizations to fill your order.

We check and analyze each order to make sure you get the best deal in terms of shipping cost and time to delivery.

Shipping Cost Estimations

Our system will give you an estimated shipping cost when you check out. This cost is supplied by the USPS computer, and will generally either be accurate or will be high.Occasionally it will be too low, but you don't have to worry about that. The estimated shipping cost is the MOST you will pay, and QUITE OFTEN you will pay LESS than the estimate shown. Unlike many online stores, we charge ACTUAL shipping costs, so if your package costs us less to ship when we get to the post office, that's what you pay. You will never pay more than the estimate.

Some of our smaller orders, under about 3.5 yds of fabric, can fit into flat rate priority mail envelopes. If we can fit yours into one, you'll often pay less and get it sooner in the bargain. Also, when we figure up the total cost of shipping your order, we often find that with our packaging costs and our discount for purchasing priority mail postage online, it's cheaper to ship your order via Priority Mail than Parcel Post. If so, we do it and pass both the money and time savings on to you. Recent changes in the USPS pricing structure have caused this to happen more frequently, especially with the new flat rate priority boxes. If you're in the USA and your parcel post charges are 10-20 dollars, you can be pretty sure your order will ship flat rate priority for $10-11, or just under $14. if it has to go into a large flat-rate box.

Bottom line; we always ship whatever way saves you money unless you specifically ask for a higher shipping cost, and we pass ALL savings on to you. .

Ship-to Locations:

We ship to locations in the USA, Canada, Austral-asia, and most European, Asian and South American countries as well as some African countries. If you make a purchase and we don't currently ship to your area, we'll immediately refund your payment and send you an email explaining the situation.

Free Shipping Policy (USA Orders Only):

We provide free shipping for all orders over $75 shipped to addresses in the USA. We ship all free-ship orders using USPS First Class mail, Parcel Post, or Priority Mail, at our discretion, depending on order weight, size and shipping costs. In practice, this means that many of our orders are shipped USPS Priority Mail. For planning purposes though, assume that your package will be shipped First Class or standard parcel post. Contact us, or select and pay for a higher cost option at checkout if you need faster shipping and are prepared to pay the difference in charges.

International Shipping and Discount International Shipping:

For orders shipped outside the USA, we offer USPS International Priority Mail or USPS Express Mail. Many lighter-weight orders will also qualify for International First Class Parcel. PLEASE SEE NOTE IN BOLD PRINT BELOW ! You choose at checkout. For orders over $75 USD, we will discount your shipping charges by the amount it would cost us to ship a standard flat rate package, using our lowest rate, within the USA.. This means the maximum shipping discount will normally be about $10, or $14 for really large orders. Since our system does not calculate the discount automatically, we will apply the appropriate USA shipping charges when we charge your credit card, which is when your order ships. When the postage exceeds the Priority Mail Flat rate, we attempt to ship in Flat Rate boxes, up to 20 pounds (the limit for single parcels.) Since flat rate boxes are somewhat small, your order may not fit into a flat rate box, requiring a higher postal charge. For orders exceeding 20 pounds weight or larger bulk we will sometimes break up the order into multiple parcels to make it as economical as possible. If our website mis-estimates the charges over or under, we will adjust the shipping charges when your parcel(s) ship. In practice this often means your actual shipping charges will be lower than your estimated charges. We try to keep suprises to a minimum; we always include your exact shipping charges and final total in your shipping notice email.

Priority Mail Flat Rate Envelopes

We sometimes get asked about shipping in Priority Mail Flat rate envelopes to international locations. Some stores advertise that they'll ship huge amounts of fabric in one of these envelopes. The truth is, about the most fabric you can safely ship in a priority mail flat rate envelope is 3.5 yards. After that, you risk tearing the envelope during shipping and handling. The post office is now refusing and returning many overstuffed flat rate envelopes. We also package our fabrics carefully and protect them in heavy poly heat sealed packaging, which takes up some room but fully protects your order.

A good alternative at a usually lower cost is USPS 1st Class International Parcel. To most countries, we can ship via this method up to four pounds at a lower cost than Priority mail. This would be the equivalent of about 10-12 yards of fabric plus packaging material. The only difference in time is that most customs process priority mail before they process 1st class, they all use the same transport. In most cases this means a few hours delay or less. Also, with our shipping discount for larger orders, we can often ship a lot more product for a lot less money using 1st class parcel. If your order is about 12 yards or less, and our system doesn't offer you first class parcel service, just request "ship lowest cost method" on your order and we'll take care of it for you if your order qualifies. We'll adjust your charges appropriately, as always. We promise we'll never send it on a slow boat, we only use airmail!

Customs Fees, Duties, VAT taxes, Sales Taxes, etc.

We are required to collect Nevada sales tax on all orders coming from our home state of Nevada. For all other USA orders, we do not collect sales or use taxes, those are the responsibility of the customer.

All our International shipments are shipped as type "other," and the value of the contents are declared on the shipping customs documents. We do not ship parcels as "gift" as this is a violation of customs law and subjects us to potential fines. Any additional customs fees, duties, VAT or other taxes levied by your country must be paid by the buyer upon delivery. We do not collect those fees, they are not part of our shipping estimate, shipping charges or product prices.

Shipping Time:

We normally ship your order within 1 business day of receiving your order. If we can't do so, we'll send you an email right away letting you know about any delays. We use USPS Priority Mail for many orders. This means that for many orders shipped to USA addresses, you'll receive your shipment in 3 days or less. Small orders shipped 1st class usually arrive in about the same time as Priority Mail. Parcel post orders can take from 7 to 10 days or longer depending on weather or other transportation delays.

Most international shipments will arrive within 6-14 business days, not counting any customs or destination delivery delays. First class mail deliveries may take slightly longer as they are cleared through customs after Priority and Express mail, but this is normally only a matter of minutes or a few hours at most.

Handling and Packing Fees:

We don't charge any so-called "handling charges" or "packing fees." We don't like it when others charge extra fees just to make their products appear cheaper, and we don't engage in this process. We know our customers are smart enough to compare the total costs of purchases, including travel time, fuel expenses, shipping expense, quality of merchandise, etc., and come to their own conclusions as to what stores give the best value.

If your order can't be delivered:

If your order is sent back to us by the postal service as non-deliverable, we'll refund your purchase price, minus any shipping charges. If this happens we'll contact you to let you know the status of your order and make further arrangements for delivery. Additional shipping charges may be required. All International orders are marked "abandon" if they cannot be delivered, and we cannot refund for any lost international orders.

If you receive an incorrect order:

This should never happen, but if it does, contact us immediately at service@quilt-kits-online.com. We'll pay for shipping the incorrect order back to us and we'll pay for shipping the correct item to you.

Packing

 

All our kits and fabrics are heat-sealed in heavy-duty poly bags to prevent water, dust and contact damage. Our kits are packed and sealed in the dry climate of the Nevada high desert, so you don't have to worry about mildew or other damage caused by sealed-in atmospheric moisture. We ship in USPS-supplied containers or heavy Poly tuff-bags to protect your order against damage. If you receive a damaged shipment and can't resolve it with the postal authorities, please contact us at service@quilt-kits-online.com.

Our kits are checked against cutting and packing lists before they're sealed, to make sure they're complete before they go out to you. There's nothing we hate worse than to have an order show up with missing or incorrect items, so we work extra hard to make sure that doesn't happen. We are, however, human, and mistakes can happen. If you receive an incorrect order, please contact us immediately at service@quilt-kits-online.com and we'll make sure we fix it immediately. We want you to be not just happy, but thrilled with your purchase and shopping experience!!

 

Product Availability

 

Many fabric designs have a limited lifespan, so there is occasionally a chance we'll run out of all or part of a kit and won't be able to produce more exactly as shown. If we run out of a kit or one or more parts of a kit, and can't make more exactly like shown and advertised, we'll try to offer you an acceptable alternative of equal or greater value, and give you the options of doing something different or cancelling your order, before we ship it. We want you to be completely satisfied!

We make a concerted effort to not show things on our website that we don't have in stock. However, occasionally we'll be unable to completely fill an order for an item, such as if you order more than we have remaining and we can't get any more. If this happens, we'll attempt to contact you by phone and/or email and resolve the situation.

Our Return Policy

 

We want you to be 100% satisified with your order, and we guarantee your satisfaction with our refund policy. We know, sometimes you get something you ordered and you just plain don't like it, or it's not what you expected.

We hope that never happens, but if it does, here's what to do to ensure your return goes smoothly and promptly:

  • Your entire purchase price will be cheerfully refunded, or a store credit offered for kits or other merchandise returned to us in unopened, undamaged condition.
  • Sorry, we can't accept any returns on copyrighted, published patterns, or on customized kits.
  • We don't charge re-stocking fees.
  • If you open a sealed kit or fabric package and then decide you don't like or want it, you can still return it. However, if any of the kit parts or other merchandise is returned to us in damaged, altered or soiled condition, you'll be charged (or deducted from your refund) the price of the damaged or missing pieces.
  • Returns must be made by local postal service, i.e. USPS, Canada Post, etc. No COD returns will be accepted.
  • If Free Shipping was applied to your order, the original cost of shipping the order to you will be deducted from your refund or store credit. On partial order returns, we'll calculate the shipping that applied to the part returned and deduct that amount from your refund or credit.
  • Returns must have tracking numbers.
  • Before you return anything, send an email to service@quilt-kits-online.com including your sales invoice number, your name, item you're returning, and the reason you're returning it, so we can make sure your account is properly credited when we receive the return.
  • All returns must be made within 14 days of the date your package was delivered to you.
  • All refunds will be made to the Visa, Mastercard or Paypal account used to purchase the order.

 

Our Privacy Policy

 

Quilt Kits Online wants you to feel secure in your shopping experience, so we take your security and your privacy very seriously. We do everything we can to make sure you're shopping in a safe, secure environment.

Protecting Your Financial Information:

We use industry-standard SSL encryption to protect all financial transactions, including your credit card and registration/shipping information. Our website store is operated on secure servers and is backed up regularly. All our Visa and Mastercard transactions are processed by our Merchant Services company, on their secure servers. If you use Paypal or Google Checkout for your payment, their processing is also amongst the most secure in the world.

No credit card information is stored locally at Quilt Kits Online, all such data is maintained by your own credit card issuer.

Protecting Your Personal Information:

We absolutely promise you that we'll never give, sell, barter, or otherwise disclose any information about you to anyone else, except as necessary to our Merchant Services provider to process your purchase transaction. That includes your name, address, phone numbers, email addresses or any other information we collect from you.

We promise to use the best security methods in the business to keep hackers and other nefarious persons from gaining access to our customer file. If you register as a customer on our system, you can be assured that your information is safe and private, and in addition, you won't get a bunch of spam from anyone as a result of doing business with us. We hope to retain you as a customer forever, but if for any reason you want us to remove your information from our customer files, just send us an email at service@quilt-kits-online.com and we'll make it happen immediately.
