Well, we finally have our blog, aka the QKO Notebook, up and running. Ya, it’s just another blog, but don’t you think “blog” sounds a little bit techie or weird for a quilting store site? We think Notebook says it better, and is a little easier on our ears.

QKO Gets a New Business Plan!
After doing considerable study of the online quilt market, we’ve decided to change our business plan! We found that almost all web quilting stores are selling fabrics, kits and notions at list prices, like we were. The real challenge on the web is to differentiate yourself in the online market. We did the math, and found that by making a few adjustments we can sell just about everything for under regular retail prices.
So, we’ve reduced our prices on everything in the store!
* Our fabrics are now all priced at between 1 and 2 dollars per yard under retail store prices, and are under every online store pricing we can find.
* Our kit prices reflect our new lower fabric pricing levels. Additionally, as usual, if you purchase backing along with your kit, you’ll pay even less for it than our normal low fabric prices!
* We’ve reduced prices on all notions, patterns, and books to under retail.
With fabric prices going up all the time, we’ll be working hard to keep our prices down. So, we’ve had to change a couple of other things. In order to lower our prices all the way around and still stay in business, we’ve had to increase our free shipping level to $75. But, check around! No one else selling at these prices gives free shipping anytime, at any order level! We have:
* Free shipping on all orders $75 and over
* Discounted shipping on international orders over $75.
* No marked-up shipping! You pay exact postage and no handling or packaging fees! If our system overestimates your shipping, we refund the difference, if our system underestimates your shipping, we pay the difference.
We’re going to continue looking for and offering unique and beautiful fabrics that you won’t find at your local quilt store or at most online stores. We’ll continue to create our own kits as well as offering custom kit services, just like before. And, we’re also going to keep our standards high, carrying only top-quality goods like fabrics that have great designs, feel and sewability. If we get fabrics that don’t meet our standards, we send them back to the suppliers.
