Tidbits and "who cares" information about QKO

• QKO was first opened in 2006, when Cindy and Don were looking for something to do other than to be retired.
• QKO's official parent company name is DCFVentures.com, LLC, a Nevada Limited Liability Company totally owned by Don and Cindy Feyma, Smith, Nevada.
• QKO has grown a lot in a little over four years, more than doubling in sales each year. This is due to hard work and always treating our customers fairly and with respect
• We have almost outgrown the addition we put onto our house that serves as our business base..
• QKO is one of the largest international dealers on the internet for Fabric Freedom fabrics.
• QKO is one of the largest dealers on the internet for Cara Collection Serenity Daiwabo taupes. We try to keep in stock every new release and every Serenity Basic.
• Our store was founded on trust, quality, and on giving good value and world-class customer service, and we remind ourselves every day that the customer comes first.
• We try to learn everything we can about the fabric and quilting business and pass that on to our customers whenever possible.
• QKO was started with the idea of being a quilt kits supplier. That didn't work out as well as planned. Now, since over 90% of our sales are NOT kits, we are also known as Quilt Fabrics Online. Thus the two website addresses leading to the same place.
• Our dogs' names are Princess and Sassy. They are sisters out of different litters a year apart. Since Princess was the runt of her litter, she's a little smaller than Sassy even though she's a year older.. But she acts fiercer to make up for it.
• Don doesn't ride horses much anymore, but still rides motorcycles. Cindy doesn't ride motorcycles much anymore, but still rides her horses.
• Cindy is a whiz on EQ7 and loves to design blocks and quilts. She also uses it to check out other designers' quilt patterns for accuracy before we kit them.
• Don does all the website work, including the programming. He was a computer weenie in a previous life.
• Neither Don or Cindy are particularly good at bookkeeping, but we keep trying.
• We both love Lake Tahoe, except for the traffic.
• Our local post office is a historical landmark, and is the cutest one we've ever seen.
• Cindy is a great piecer, her points are always perfect even if she has to rip them out and do them again.
• She's also good at FMQing, even though she swears a lot while doing it.
• Cindy uses Husquevarna Viking sewing machines.
• Don has tried piecing, but isn't any good at it.
